King Charles is reportedly hoping Prince Harry’s upcoming UK visit will create an opportunity to ease long-running tensions within the Royal Family. The claims come as reports suggest the monarch has been working to make the Sussexes’ return as smooth as possible ahead of their expected visit.
King Charles wants to end the royal rift once and for all when Prince Harry visits, claims source
Prince Harry is widely expected to travel to the UK in July for events connected to the Invictus Games. Reports suggest Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, could also join him. Recent reports have claimed that King Charles has offered the Sussexes accommodation during their stay. Further, he wants to spend time with his grandchildren, whom he has reportedly not seen in person since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
According to one insider, the monarch now believes the family’s prolonged estrangement has gone on long enough and sees the upcoming visit as an important opportunity to reopen communication. “Charles has become increasingly emotional about the situation between William and Harry because, from his point of view, far too much time has already been lost. There was a period where he accepted that neither side was ready to move forward, but he’s now become convinced that if this family is ever going to heal, somebody has to step in.”
A source claimed King Charles has become increasingly determined to help bridge the divide between Harry and William. According to the insider, the King believes resentment has grown over the years. The individual also claimed that he has encouraged “William that carrying around this level of resentment is helping nobody.”
The source further alleged that Charles views, “July presents the best opportunity they’re likely to get, and he doesn’t want it wasted. He knows there’s every chance the meeting could be uncomfortable, but he firmly believes it’s now or never.” While King Charles is reportedly optimistic about the visit, reports indicate Prince William remains reluctant to reconcile with his younger brother.
