SLOMW fans learned early on that Taylor and Tate were getting divorced, and that they had engaged in “soft swinging.” As Taylor shared, she “caught feelings for a man that my husband welcomed into our house.” So, in 2022, she and Tate mutually decided to part ways. Years later, their divorce journey is still not complete, and now, it has a new filing on its docket courtesy of Tate.

According to TMZ, yesterday, Tate headed to a Utah courthouse seeking a restraining order against Taylor. He also filed for sole custody of their two children, Indy and Ocean, aged 8 and 6, respectively. His filing reportedly included five exhibits and a declaration that helped support his request. However, all of these filings were done under seal, so at this time, it remains unknown what prompted Tate to seek out this restraining order against Taylor in the first place.

That said, a source close to Taylor told the outlet that Dakota Mortenson, her most recent ex, might have played a hand in this. Apparently, Tate filed his restraining order petition as a direct result of Dakota, who reportedly told Tate lies about Taylor. As this source alleged, Taylor feels like Dakota would do anything in his power to hurt her, even if it involves her children.

But never fear, this source continued, because Taylor is a survivor, and she will get through this, per usual.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu.
