Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Madison Square Garden wedding setup reportedly underwent a significant change. Earlier on Tuesday, workers reportedly swapped the red carpet for purple ones ahead of the couple’s wedding festivities on July 3 in New York City.
MSG wedding setup reportedly change red carpet to purple
Workers reportedly switched the red carpet with purple at Madison Square Garden ahead of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s upcoming wedding. As per TMZ’s exclusive report, workers had laid out a red carpet on a set of stairs outside the arena.
However, upon receiving new instructions, they promptly changed it to a purple carpet. One of them was heard saying that the color of the carpet is meant to be purple, hence they are changing it. An employee revealed to Page Six that the decor is for a “wedding,” without name-dropping the couple. The carpet, however, was quickly ripped off the stairs because a worker explained to their teammates that they needed to roll out the purple carpet later.
It was previously reported that Swift and Kelce will wed on July 3 in New York City. However, at the time, sources claimed that the couple planned to tie the knot at the singer’s lavish home. Later, multiple reports stated that the singer and NFL star will host their wedding festivities at the iconic MSG.
Previously, NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani subtly revealed the couple’s plans to wed in NYC. While praising the city’s security measures, Mamdani stated, “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one.” The 34-year-old politician added, “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
Separately, in a bid to prevent information from leaking, the high-profile couple has asked their wedding guests to sign an NDA.
