Madison Square Garden has reportedly taken on a whole new appearance for Taylor Swift’s wedding preparations. The news arrives amid claims that MSG is merely a decoy, masking the pop sensation’s real wedding venue. While neither Swift nor Travis Kelce has confirmed wedding plans, the sheer scale of the operation has left fans convinced something big is coming.
MSG has reportedly been ‘transformed’ amid Taylor Swift wedding prep
Whispers suggest that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are giving MSG a glamorous wedding makeover.
In the lead-up to their expected wedding this weekend, the iconic arena is undergoing a striking revamp. On Monday, June 29, trucks lined the venue as staff unloaded equipment, grass, and décor inside. Among the gear, workers unloaded black cases with one tagged “Garden Party” in purple, and another, noticeably bigger, reading “Mirror Ball.”
According to sources speaking exclusively with PEOPLE, the interior of Madison Square Garden has been completely redone. The space is “transformed,” one insider noted, before adding, “I’ve never seen it look so different.”
On June 30, a Deuxmoi video showed crews laying a red carpet at MSG. The south entrance stairs were draped in the red velvet runner while staff kept setting up for the event.
Few details have emerged about the celebrity couple’s upcoming event, though family friend George Kittle recently disclosed one request from the couple. “They said absolutely no gifts,” the San Francisco 49ers tight end shared with ExtraTV at the Tight Ends & Friends Concert presented by Sports Illustrated and Reese’s in Nashville on June 23.
Meanwhile, PEOPLE has learned from multiple sources that the New York celebration on Friday, July 3, is black-tie. In addition, an insider said that attendees must follow a strict no-phone rule.
City permits have shown that around 500 to 999 guests will attend the celebration. Some stars have already confirmed they’ll be there to watch Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce walk down the aisle. That includes George Kittle, Andy Reid, Graham Norton, and Suki Waterhouse. Others expected include Zoë Kravitz, Jack Antonoff, and Stevie Nicks.
