Travis Kelce’s NFL pal Taylor Lewan expressed his hurt over not being invited to the Chiefs TE’s wedding to Taylor Swift. Lewan went on an angry rant on Tuesday’s episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, which he co-hosts with another of Kelce’s NFL friends, Will Compton. For those unversed, Swift and Kelce tied the knot on July 3 at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, with close friends and family in attendance.
Taylor Lewan calls out Travis Kelce after Taylor Swift wedding snub
Taylor Lewan vented on his podcast that Travis Kelce did not invite him to his wedding to Taylor Swift. Lewan began by congratulating the couple on their wedding. The former Titan then threw shade at Kelce and Swift’s “intimate wedding.” “Clearly it was an extremely intimate wedding. An intimate wedding where clearly only their closest friends went,” he said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
“So, going into the weekend I thought, ‘Oh good. Didn’t get an invite. Checked my AOL, reactivated that. No invite there.’ And I was just making sure,” Lewan said.
Continuing further, he said, “Happy for them. Sent Travis a shot of a text Saturday night saying, ‘Congratulations.’ You hit me back pretty quick. Happy for them and their relationship.”
Lewan then began discussing the guest list. The former Titan star revealed that he understood San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle and his wife Claire’s presence at the nuptials. However, he was surprised to learn that the player’s mother and mother-in-law were also there.
Lewan complained to his co-hosts: “They’re close, but like, yo, we’re boys….I’ve known you for over 10 years. We text and call each other.”
The former tackle reflected upon his long friendship with Kelce, stating, “I’m gonna take the high road, okay? But I’m just thinking, dude, I’m clearly doing something wrong in our friendship.”
His co-hosts asked him to show his last few text messages to the Chiefs’ tight end. Lewan dished: “Friday: ‘Congrats, amigo.’ Saturday: ‘Thank you, brother.’ That’s our last two texts to each other. It was me saying, ‘Hey, bag secured. Congrats, amigo.’”
Previously, Will Compton reacted to not being invited to Kelce and Swift’s wedding on Monday’s Wake Up Barstool episode. Compton shared with Dave Portnoy: “As I’ve been seeing the photos of everybody else at that wedding, I’m kind of flabbergasted I didn’t get that invite.”
