Police investigating ex-Prince Andrew are expected to travel to the US to speak with Virginia Giuffre’s family. The 66-year-old is also accused of raping Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse, when she was a minor.
Police prepare to interview Virginia Giuffre’s relatives in the US as investigators expand their ex-Prince Andrew probe
The Times of London reported that Thames Valley Police officers investigating Andrew over potential sexual offenses are expected to travel to the US to speak with Giuffre’s brother and sister-in-law, Sky and Amanda Roberts, as part of their inquiry.
TMZ indicates that the two are not direct witnesses to the alleged events and will therefore not be formally interviewed. However, it remains unclear whether the officers have received permission from US authorities to conduct the interview.
Giuffre’s family has expressed confidence in the investigator’s approach, describing its handling of the allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as “very proactive.”
Giuffre was raped, not once but three times, by the former prince, reports ABC. She filed a federal lawsuit against Andrew in 2021, accusing him of sexually abusing her when she was 17. In April 2025, she died by suicide.
Andrew, who was stripped of his titles last year over his ties to Epstein, was arrested in February 2026. It marked the first time the former prince was arrested over his links to Epstein, but he was soon released. He denies all allegations.
He said in his 2019 Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis that he had been at the Surrey branch on March 10, 2001, when he was accused of sleeping with Giuffre, reports the BBC. He stated that on that day, he took his daughter, Princess Beatrice, to a Pizza Express party in Woking at about 4 or 5 pm, and later spent the night at home. The restaurant chain’s senior management investigated the alibi given by the then-Duke of York in the interview. However, it concluded there was no evidence that Andrew visited the restaurant, nor any evidence that he did not.
