JD Vance’s Cookie Story Puts Donald Trump’s Election Fraud Fight Back in Focus

JD Vance has compared election fraud deniers to his son lying about cookie theft, implying it is childish. The vice president reportedly made the remark while speaking at the Donald Trump administration’s recent anti-fraud campaign.

JD Vance compared Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson’s letter to his son denying stolen cookies

JD Vance spoke to a crowd in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 8, promoting Donald Trump‘s anti-fraud campaign. The vice president discussed financial fraud, immigration fraud, and election fraud during his speech.

At one point, Vance shared that he received a letter from the mayor of Milwaukee, Cavalier Johnson, who criticized Trump’s ongoing federal probe into the 2020 presidential election (via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). Vance swiftly dismissed the rebuttal, saying that denying election fraud is childish.

“It was a little bit of a ‘He doth protest too much,’ because I came here to talk about financial fraud,” Vance said. “I came here to talk about the fraud against our prenatal program for our young moms. And some guy sends me a letter, the mayor of Milwaukee, and says, ‘We don’t do any election fraud. We don’t do any election fraud. We don’t do any election fraud,'” he added.

Vance then referenced Johnson’s argument against election fraud, comparing it to his 6-year-old son, Vivek’s denial of stealing cookies. “I love my little boy, but he’s a little mischievous,” Vance said. “And he gives me a big hug. He says, ‘Daddy, I’m glad you’re home. I didn’t steal any of the cookies!’”

The vice president continued, “I said, ‘Huh, that’s interesting that you volunteered that when I wasn’t even talking about that.’ Well, of course, he stole the cookies. So when I hear a guy protesting out of nowhere, I did not do any election fraud. I did not do any election fraud. It makes me wonder, why is that guy protesting so aggressively? It’s a little odd.”

Vivek is the second son of JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, who also share two other kids, son Ewan, 9, and daughter Mirabel, 4. The couple is currently expecting their fourth child this month.
