Prince Harry’s recent mention of Prince William draws attention
On June 9, Prince Harry’s unexpected mention of Prince William during a conversation with a young kid left netizens stunned (via Sky News). The 41-year-old had a heartfelt exchange with a young patient at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where he mentioned Prince William. While chatting with 12-year-old Alex Hill, Harry mentioned that he was “an Arsenal supporter.” Then, he asked the teenager whom he supported.
Upon learning that Hill was an Aston Villa supporter, Harry said, “Aston Villa, my brother supports Aston Villa.” Then, the duo discussed the team’s recent win in the Europa League. This name-drop has given fans hope that the brothers might reunite after years of estrangement. So far, he has neither met his brother, Prince William, nor his father, King Charles.
The relationship between the two brothers became fraught in 2023 when Harry’s scalding comments about William in his memoir, Spare, came to light. The Duke of Sussex called his brother his “arch nemesis.” He also wrote about a physical altercation with his brother. During the altercation, William knocked his younger brother down to the floor. This resulted in Harry falling on a dog bowl, which broke.
In the same book, the Duke of Sussex also claimed that his brother’s wife, Princess Catherine Middleton, made his wife, Meghan Markle, cry before their wedding.
