Shia LaBeouf reflected on his strained relationship with his father, Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf. The Transformers actor said his father was removed from several sets after repeatedly hitting on his female co-stars. He claimed that his father “was hitting on all three of those women all the time,” reportedly referring to Charlie’s Angels stars Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore.
Shia LaBeouf said his father’s behavior damaged his relationships with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu
LaBeouf spoke about it during a Transformers reunion panel at the 2026 Fanboy Expo on July 11 while discussing Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, reports People.
Talking about his father, he said, “My dad was fresh out of prison, so we were on this set, and here were all these pretty girls walking around. Bad news.” “My dad was hitting on all three of those women all the time.”
LaBeouf alleged that Liu kept her distance from his father while filming the 2003 action-comedy. “Lucy Liu couldn’t stand my dad. She couldn’t stand him. But he wasn’t going nowhere, he’s my dad. So we were just hanging out all the time, and Lucy Liu would always do these big circles around my trailer.”
During the panel, LaBeouf said Liu “never wanted to be around ‘cause my dad was always whistling at her.” He also recalled similar incidents on the set of Holes, saying his father had been removed from multiple sets after allegedly hitting on actresses, including Sigourney Weaver. LaBeouf was a teenager while filming both Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Holes in 2003.
The Sun reported that his father was convicted of attempted rape in 1981 and served time until 1983. He later admitted to the conviction and being registered under Megan’s Law. On the other hand, The Guardian states, LaBeouf has also been sentenced to two years of probation for an incident in which he attacked three men and yelled homophobic slurs.
