Boosie Badazz turned up the heat in his ongoing legal battle over a failed presidential pardon effort. The rapper publicly blasted one of the political operatives he claimed took hundreds of thousands of dollars while promising connections that never materialised.
The latest outburst came after one of the defendants disputed Boosie’s allegations. The rapper has maintained that he paid a substantial fee in hopes of securing a pardon from President Donald Trump before ultimately filing suit to recover part of the money.
What Boosie Badazz alleged about the failed Donald Trump pardon effort
Boosie fired back at political operative Jack Burkman after Burkman denied key claims in the lawsuit. In a social media post, the rapper wrote, “I GAVE U 3 MONTHS TO SEND MY MONEY BACK‼️ TALKING ABOUT TRUMP SIGNED THE PARDON. GOT ME RUNNING AROUND THE DAM HOUSE JUMPING… SAYING U JUST TALKED TO THE PRESIDENT‼️ U PLAYED WITH THE WRONG ONE. I’M SUING YALL N FEDERAL COURT NOW.”
The outlet reported that Boosie alleged he paid Burkman and fellow operative Jacob Wohl $600,000 after they claimed they had direct access to Trump and could help secure a pardon. He is now seeking $300,000, arguing the agreement required half the fee to be refunded if no pardon was obtained.
Burkman, however, disputed that claim, telling the publication, “The provision in the contract he is referencing was never agreed to at all.”
Additional details about the lawsuit painted a broader picture of how the alleged deal unfolded. According to Atlanta Black Star, Boosie, whose legal name is Torence Hatch Jr., faced a federal gun charge stemming from a 2023 traffic stop and later pleaded guilty. With sentencing approaching, he publicly appealed to Trump for clemency and even sought help from presidential pardon adviser Alice Marie Johnson.
The report alleged that Burkman and Wohl later claimed Trump had already signed the pardon. But when Boosie’s legal team checked with prosecutors and court officials, no pardon existed. A White House official also reportedly said the administration had never received his application.
Boosie was eventually sentenced to 10 days of time served and three years of supervised release. His lawsuit now seeks to recover the money he claimed was owed after the promised pardon never materialized.
