Prince Harry may have only one route to repairing his relationship with King Charles. At least, that’s what a royal insider is claiming. According to a new report, the Duke of Sussex will need to set aside expectations and show greater humility if he truly wants to move past the ongoing rift. The claims come after multiple outlets suggested another disagreement during Harry’s recent U.K. visit added to the tension between father and son.
Prince Harry needs to show ‘humility’ if he genuinely wants things to change, claims source
Prince Harry is being urged to rethink his approach if he genuinely wants to reconcile with King Charles. While the monarch has reportedly continued to extend goodwill toward his youngest son, insiders claim that patience within royal circles is beginning to run out.
One royal source alleged that Charles has tried to keep the door open despite years of family tensions. However, the insider claimed there is growing frustration over Harry’s expectations. “Charles is an extremely busy man,” the source told Closer Online. The insider alleged that Harry seems to believe he can work around his father’s schedule “whenever it suits him” and still expect a warm welcome.
As such, the source claimed, the duke needs to change course. “If he genuinely wants peace, he needs to stop making demands and start showing a bit more humility,” the insider said. The source added that, without that shift, “nothing is going to change.”
It was previously reported that Charles had offered to arrange accommodation for his son at Buckingham Palace. Harry allegedly declined the offer at first. Then, in another update, he later asked for royal lodging shortly before arriving.
That apparent change of plans is said to have caused frustration behind palace walls. Reports alleged that staff had already adjusted arrangements after Harry initially turned down the offer. As a result, the late request could not be accommodated.
Meanwhile, another source alleged that Harry believes people around the king have influenced his father’s opinion of him. According to the insider, the prince feels those close to Charles have attempted to “poison” the monarch against him.
Even so, palace insiders see the situation differently. They claim the issue is not outside influence but Harry’s own approach. In their view, reconciliation will require compromise from both sides, but they insist the first step has to come from Harry.
