The trip happened before they traveled to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. While the trip was supposed to help them unwind, a report by Heat World suggests it did just the opposite.
The chaos reportedly began when their plans to stay at Buckingham Palace fell through after the Palace reversed its decision to let the family stay at the royal residence.
According to the Palace, this happened because Harry did not accept King Charles‘ invitation by the deadline. This left officials with too little time to accommodate the family. Meanwhile, Harry’s team reportedly claimed the delay occurred because he was trying to finalize security arrangements for his family before accepting the invitation.
Due to this dispute, the holiday reportedly became stressful for the Sussexes. An insider claimed that the couple had hoped to enjoy some quality time together and simply unwind. Instead, the Europe trip turned into a “long strategy session.” According to the source, they were constantly on the phone with their lawyers and publicists, trying to get ahead of the security fallout. Once that was over, Markle reportedly became occupied with work related to her brand.
The source added that they were so busy managing these issues that they barely had any time to enjoy their vacation together.
