The Daily Mail claim leans mostly on a video Baldoni posted with his wife, Emily, after his legal dispute with Lively reached a settlement.
In it, Baldoni said the couple has stayed silent for many months, and “it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say, because Lord knows we have.” The couple framed the video around healing from the difficult period. “We are healing. And if you’ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn’t linear,” they said.
Baldoni thanked supporters who, he said, “used their intuition and trusted it.” On June 11, during Swift’s Songwriters Hall of Fame induction, she told the crowd that “writers need to trust their human intuition” in an industry fixated on data and analytics.
The similarity prompted online speculation, though neither Swift nor Baldoni has indicated that their remarks were connected.
The legal dispute began in December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation, including an alleged smear campaign. Baldoni denied the allegations and later sued Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and others, though his lawsuit was dismissed in 2025.
The renewed attention also follows Swift’s July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce, which Lively did not attend. Reports have offered conflicting accounts of Lively’s absence, with some claiming she was not invited and others suggesting she and Ryan Reynolds chose not to attend to avoid drawing attention away from the couple.
For now, the supposed connection between Swift and Baldoni remains an unverified theory based on similar wording and coincidental timing rather than evidence of direct communication.
