Jesy Nelson’s former fiancé, Zion Foster, is setting the record straight following their breakup. The singer shared an emotional statement insisting that while his relationship with the former Little Mix star has ended, his commitment to their twin daughters remains unwavering.
The former couple, who share one-year-old twins Ocean and Story, have been navigating their daughters’ Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 diagnosis since earlier this year. Zion’s statement comes ahead of Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, where he is seen candidly discussing the emotional toll the diagnosis took on him.
Zion Foster said Jesy Nelson ended their relationship but insisted he remains fully committed to their twin daughters

According to The Sun, Zion addressed criticism over comments featured in the documentary, where he admitted feeling “out of my depth.” He clarified that his words were never meant to suggest he was stepping away from fatherhood.
“When I said I was ‘out of my depth’, I wasn’t saying I was walking away from my children or abandoning my responsibilities as a father,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “I was talking about the overwhelming reality of suddenly facing a rare and complex medical diagnosis that I knew nothing about. I was being honest.”
He continued, “Being out of my depth meant I was learning. It meant I was trying to understand. It never meant that I didn’t love my daughters or that I wasn’t going to be there for them.”
Zion also revealed that Jesy was the one who ended their relationship, writing, “Jesy made the decision to end our relationship and, while I respect that, it does not change the fact that I remain committed to my daughters in every way I possibly can.”
He added that he attends every medical appointment, continues educating himself about SMA, and remains focused on supporting Ocean and Story. “Please don’t mistake vulnerability for abandonment. They’re not the same thing. I never stopped loving them, never stopped fighting for them and never stopped being their dad,” he said.
In Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, the emotional strain of the twins’ diagnosis is evident. Zion admits, “I’m not equipped to deal with this. I’m out of my depth; emotionally, physically and mentally.”
Jesy, meanwhile, expressed empathy for her then-partner, saying she could see how deeply he was struggling while remaining hopeful they would overcome the challenges together. Although the pair later split—just months after getting engaged—they reportedly remain united in co-parenting their daughters.
