Meghan Markle will appear on MasterChef Australia this month. As a guest judge, she will ask contestants to create a dish tied to a personal story. Meghan Markle joins MasterChef Australia as a guest judge on July 26
Endemol Shine Australia and Channel 10 took to Instagram to announce Markle’s TV appearance. She will be appearing in the July 26 episode at 7 pm of MasterChef Australia. The caption read, “The countdown is on! Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, joins the #MasterChefAU kitchen as a guest judge, bringing her love of food, entertaining and seasonal produce to one of the competition’s most memorable challenges.”
The contestants would have to craft a dish out of a seasonal ingredient and tell a personal story about why they chose it. In a statement, Markle addressed her reality show appearance, revealing what appealed the most about it to her. She said, “What attracted me to the MasterChef Australia kitchen? Two things: my love of food and my love of Australia. It was an easy yes. It’s such a great show. I’m just really honoured that I was asked to be able to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals.”
The available ingredients for the contestants to create a special dish for the Duchess of Sussex included quince, lemons, apples, mandarins, strawberries, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, celeriac, local Australian honey, and macadamia nuts. Markle will join the show’s regular judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli. The filming of the episode likely took place in April when she was in Australia with Prince Harry.
Apart from the lawsuit loss, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent UK visit was also met with security concerns and the former’s Buckingham Palace stay drama.
