Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly found life in California more complicated than they expected. The Duchess of Sussex and the Duke moved to America after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. A new expert claim said their life now looked different from the future they had hoped to build. The report focused on Harry missing parts of Britain, their search for a lasting role, and questions around the couple’s long-term business plan.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘life is very different from what they expected in America,’ expert
As per Fox News report dated July 15, 2026, Dan Wakeford discussed the Sussexes’ American life. Wakeford, founder of “Celebrity Intelligence,” said sources claimed Harry missed Britain and his old role. He said, “Harry particularly doesn’t love the life he has in America.” The expert added that Prince Harry missed “his family, his friends and his former existence.” However, Archewell told Fox News Digital, “It’s all unfounded speculation, of which we don’t comment.”
Meanwhile, the report noted the couple’s July 10 meeting with King Charles at Highgrove. Fox News said Meghan, Harry, Archie, and Lilibet met the monarch there. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said Harry’s marriage was “a happy one.” However, he added that Harry was “without a proper role.” Fitzwilliams pointed to the Invictus Games but said he missed “aspects of life in the U.K.” That framed the issue as a matter of purpose, not marriage trouble.
Still, Wakeford said the couple’s wider plan had changed since their royal exit. He claimed, “Harry and Meghan’s life is very different from what they expected in America.” The expert added it was also different from “what they hoped for.” Wakeford said the gap had grown between what they were “building” and what they “actually built.” He also said they were “not bankrupt.” However, he claimed they had to “balance their costs” against future income.
