Nicki Minaj has asked a judge to dismiss her from the lawsuit
TMZ reports that court filings link the disputed contract to Pink Friday Productions LLC. Minaj argued that she never signed the agreement in her personal capacity. Her attorneys said members of a limited liability company generally are not personally liable for the company’s business debts. They asked the court to dismiss her from the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed by 24/7 Productions. The company claims it advanced money for Minaj‘s 2023 Jingle Ball appearance. It also alleges that it funded her Pink Friday 2 album launch. The company is seeking roughly $275,000 in allegedly unpaid expenses.
The company claims it covered several event-related production expenses. Those costs allegedly included planning, staffing, and other event services. It argues that the outstanding balance remains unpaid despite repeated requests. The lawsuit seeks repayment along with additional related expenses.
The plaintiffs argued that Minaj personally benefited from the production services. However, the rapper disputes that claim. She maintains that any benefits belonged to Pink Friday Productions LLC. Her response denies any personal financial responsibility.
The legal dispute comes during another challenging period for Minaj. She is also facing a separate lawsuit over allegedly unpaid legal fees. Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP filed that case in Los Angeles and is seeking about $229,500 in allegedly unpaid bills.
The court has not yet ruled on Minaj‘s request for dismissal. The lawsuit against Pink Friday Productions LLC remains active. Future hearings could determine whether Minaj remains a defendant in the case. Regardless of that decision, the case against Pink Friday Productions LLC will continue.
