Prince William will not attend the World Cup final, but reportedly, other royals will. The Spanish Palace has confirmed King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be present at Spain versus Argentina’s World Cup final match (via Express). Previously, King Felipe VI traveled to Mexico in June to watch Spain secure a solid win over Uruguay in a group-stage match.

The Spanish royal family cheered for their team during the semi-final while donning the national team’s away jersey. Previously, Felipe and Letizia witnessed Spain’s tremendous win during the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa.

Notably, the Prince of Wales showed solidarity with England’s football team after their heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final.

William wrote on X: “Gutted. England, you gave it everything and we are all so proud of you.” Continuing further, the royal penned: “Thank you to everyone on and off the pitch for an incredible tournament. The fight and belief you have shown has inspired us all. The most complete England team in a tournament. Hold your heads high.”

The Prince of Wales had previously confessed on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast that he would be traveling to the U.S. if England advanced to the finals. When asked what would make the tournament a success for England, the Prince replied honestly: “I think winning it.”

Furthermore, Jason asked the Prince of Wales whether he would be willing to travel to the U.S. if England reached the World Cup final. To which William responded, “Definitely, if we’re in the finals.”

Interestingly, defending champions Argentina won the World Cup in 2022. However, Spain won the World Cup 16 years ago in 2010.
