Victoria Gotti’s Son Wants Prison Pushed Back Days Before Surrender

Victoria Gotti‘s son, Carmine Agnello, has urged the court to push back his prison sentence so he can donate a kidney to his mother, who is living with chronic kidney disease. Days before he was supposed to surrender, Agnello asked for a delay in the latest filing.

Court filings show Carmine Agnello is asking to delay his prison surrender from July 20 to Sept. 18

Carmine Agnello, who is scheduled to surrender on July 20, has filed in court to delay his sentence. He has requested the federal judge to delay his 15-month sentence so he can donate a kidney to his mother amid illness.

According to Newsday, Agnello has provided doctors’ documents to support his request. The document read, “Nephrectomy is scheduled for August 3, wherein Mrs. Victoria Gotti will be the recipient of a kidney being donated by her son, Carmine Agnello.” The filing argues that delaying his surrender will allow the planned transplant.

However, the federal judge has rejected his request. The judge said Agnello had previously requested to delay the prison sentence to undergo kidney donation surgery, but the procedure did not take place. The prosecutors have agreed to provide a brief deferment up to August 10.

Agnello pleaded guilty in 2024 for falsely acquiring COVID-19 relief loans, which judges called “blatant theft of taxpayers’ dollars.” The alleged Small Business Administration loans were estimated at $1.1 million.

He used the loan to invest in cryptocurrency.  He has been ordered to pay restitution of $1.268 million, serve two years of supervised release, and also provide community service.

John Gotti’s daughter, Victoria Gotti, is currently facing chronic kidney disease, for which she has been receiving treatment. Agnello is supposed to start his prison sentence on July 20, but he filed to delay his prison surrender from July 20 to September 18.

Victoria Gotti has publicly shared that she is receiving treatment for chronic kidney disease. Unless the court grants additional relief, Agnello is expected to report to prison after the brief extension approved by the judge
