Victoria Gotti is facing another health setback as her planned kidney transplant has been delayed because of a serious infection. The postponement comes just days before her son, Carmine Agnello, is scheduled to report to prison. This leaves the family waiting to see whether the surgery can be rescheduled in time.

According to TMZ, Gotti and Agnello are waiting to hear from her surgeon about a new transplant date. Doctors originally scheduled the procedure for Aug. 3. They later canceled it after Gotti developed an infection that temporarily prevented her from undergoing surgery.
Sources told the outlet it appears unlikely the transplant will happen before Agnello’s Monday prison surrender. However, the family is still waiting for a final decision from doctors. Earlier this week, a judge ruled that if the surgery takes place on or before Monday, Agnello’s surrender date can be postponed until Sept. 18.
TMZ reported that Gotti and her legal team hope doctors will provide a reasonable rescheduled date. They plan to present that information to the court in hopes of securing an extension. That would allow Agnello to donate his kidney before entering federal custody.
Agnello is due to serve a 15-month prison sentence. After pleading guilty in September 2024 to wire fraud connected to roughly $1.1 million in COVID-19 relief loans. Despite the request for extra time, sources insisted the family is not trying to delay or avoid his prison sentence.
People close to the family said Agnello has already completed the necessary testing. They also said he is a perfect kidney match for his mother. His goal is to undergo the donation before reporting to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. So the procedure doesn’t have to be handled while he is incarcerated.
Sources also described the situation as deeply emotional for the family. They stressed that Gotti’s infection and ongoing kidney disease complications are the only reasons behind the request for additional time. If the court decides Agnello must surrender as scheduled, sources said he will comply with the order.
