Marjorie Taylor Greene slams Pete Hegseth’s reaction to US soldiers dying
Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted Pete Hegseth over his comment about the killing of two U.S. service members in an Iranian strike in Jordan last week. In an X post on Sunday, the Secretary of War addressed the tragic deaths, saying, “Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.”
Greene rebuked Hegseth with a scathing response. In a reply to Hegseth’s post, she said, “Sacrifice?? What the f**k are you talking about?? They did not willingly sacrifice themselves.”
Voicing her firm stance against the war, Greene went on to state, “They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the admin, are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel. You mean their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war.”
According to the official announcement by the U.S. Central Command, the two service members were “killed in action” as the CENTCOM “defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.” They also announced that one service member is currently missing.
The statement further confirmed, “Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty.”
Donald Trump also addressed the tragedy in a recent phone interview with NewsNation on Saturday. The president called the deaths “a very sad thing,” and said the troops died “in service of our country.” Trump further reiterated that the primary objective of the war is “never allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon.”
When asked about Iran’s decision to stop abiding by a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, Trump declared, “I couldn’t care less.”
