Markle celebrated the recognition on Instagram, congratulating the show’s “amazing crew, producers, and team.” The Meghan Markle Emmy nomination marks the Netflix lifestyle program’s first Emmy nod after two seasons and a holiday special. It also follows mixed reactions to the series’ awards recognition and uncertainty about its future.
The quieter connection involves William’s appearance on The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. The Apple TV episode, titled “Living the Royal Life in the U.K.,” earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program. In addition, the wider series also received a nomination for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.
During the episode, William welcomed Levy to Windsor Castle and discussed his family, recent personal pressures, and his ideas about the monarchy’s future. The appearance had already drawn attention because the prince spoke openly about protecting his family from intense public scrutiny.
