Meghan Markle is facing backlash after the “MasterChef” preview video dropped. Many believe that she tried too hard and didn’t appear genuine in the clip. In the featurette, Markle admitted that there’s a lot of pressure in the kitchen, adding that it’s not the kind of environment she likes cooking in. She believes a relaxed environment is preferable. Sharing advice to the contestants before the competition begins, she said, “So all I can say to the competitors is to just remember to have fun, to keep a sense of humor about it, and to cook from the heart.”
She then heads to the pantry, where she notices a signature item from her Netflix series, “With Love Meghan”. She instantly quipped, “Edible flowers. Love that!” It recalled the time from the show when she put those flowers on every dish. “It doesn’t need to be big for a party. It’s how you incorporate these practices every day,” she said in a short clip from her Netflix series.
The Duchess of Sussex further noted that food and cooking are a love language for her and believes they are a great way to connect with others. “It’s something that can feel sentimental and meaningful, and it’s how I show my nurturing for my friends, family, my kids,” she continued.
Fans instantly took to social media to react to the “MasterChef” clip. One said, “Everything is love language. Surprised she didn’t say “through her lens.” Another said, “Phony, smug, smarmy, and trying hard to act–badly–relatable. She really is an empty tin can.”
A third wrote, “She is so fake even watching it without the sound.” Other reactions included, “nothing authentic, she acts always , intolerable i have a reject to listen to her, to see her,” “She’s clenching her teeth and jutting her jaw forward. Lots of tension there,” and “Not even an ounce of authenticity detected.”
