Bethenny Frankel Claps Back at Body-Shaming Comments After Runway Walk

American TV personality Bethenny Frankel has revealed that she is more than okay with her age and body at 55.

The comments come after she received online criticism around her Sports Illustrated runway appearance.

Bethenny Frankel said she embraces her body despite online criticism

Frankel appeared in a barely there bikini for her runway appearance at the Sports Illustrated runway walk. She sported a black and polka-dot-bikini and walked barefoot with butt cheeks showing in a thong bottom. Frankel also untied and threw her black sheer skirt to the audience at the event.

Fans did not take the 55-year-old’s well. They clapped back on Instagram, criticizing her “skinny body” and butt-baring style. While Jeff Bezos’s wife, Lauren Sánchez, lauded the “energy,” other fans were not appreciative.

In an Instagram clip showing Frankel dancing with other models, fans and followers doubled down on their dislike. One person said, “The fact we are going back to super skinny culture is terrifying,” while another said, “What’s next skeletons dancing around in thongs.” A third person wrote, “I cringe when I see Bethanny dance…,” with a fourth person saying, “this gives me the ick on a bunch of levels…..”

According to OK! Magazine, Frankel did not take the criticism lying down. She released a TikTok post in response, addressing all the negativity. Responding to one commenter who wrote, “Your a– is Jell-O,” Frankel replied, “It is Jell-O.” She confirmed that the deluge of negativity was unexpected. She said, “I didn’t think about it until last year when everyone made such a big deal about it.”

“The Real Housewives of New York City” alum proudly expressed that she, in fact, did not believe in the beauty standards women are subjected to. “My body is natural,” she later noted. “I don’t do weights. And the reason my body is natural is because the exercise I do and have always done for my body is natural. I’ll go months without exercise and definitely days without doing anything but I always come back to it.”

Despite attracting largely positive comments, Frankel faced atypical ageist comments and body-shaming online.
