Brooke Baldwin refused to sit still after Megyn Kelly mocked her love life. The former CNN host fired back at her industry rival with a pointed reply.
Baldwin, 47, had opened up in a recent Substack essay about life after her divorce. She wrote about being single again and reflected on wanting intimacy. Kelly took issue with the candor and framed it against Baldwin’s standing as a serious journalist.
Brooke Baldwin pushed back against Megyn Kelly’s comments with a pointed response
On the Ruthless podcast, Kelly, 55, said Baldwin’s “work and her mission include banging four men in a month.” She allowed that Baldwin could do “whatever she wants,” but she called the openness a mistake and tied it to Baldwin’s public divorce.
Baldwin responded in an Instagram video posted on Sunday, July 26, and said Kelly’s jabs left her “suddenly feeling sick.” At the heart of the Megyn Kelly criticism, she argued, was a basic error. She said her essay made clear she was never intimate with the men who pursued her.
“I realized she got the entire story wrong,” Baldwin said. “Not a little wrong, but the entire premise wrong.” Her Brooke Baldwin response went further. She noted Kelly’s show reaches millions, so all of them heard a “demonstrably false claim.” She said Kelly and the outlets that echoed the remarks flunked “journalism 101,” since no one asked her for comment.
Baldwin then revealed her lawyers would move to pull the videos. The media feud came down to trust. “This deeply matters to me,” she said. “And it should matter to you, too.” Kelly later conceded the fuller truth sat behind Substack’s “paid pieces,” but brushed it off.
