Nickelodeon Star Snaps Over 2-Cent ‘Ned’s Declassified’ Residual Check

Nickelodeon star Jennifer Hyatt Tedmori revealed that though she still gets residual checks from when she worked as a child actor, the amount surprises her.

She revealed that one envelope only has 2 cents, drawing the actor’s incredulity.

Jennifer Hyatt Tedmori says her Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide residual checks totaled just a few dollars

According to Page Six, Tedmori took to Instagram to confess that she still gets “crashout” worthy residual checks from Nickelodeon. The actress starred as Doris Trembly for 11 episodes on “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,” which aired from 2004 to 2007.

“It’s that time of the year for me: I got my Ned’s residual checks,” Hyatt Tedmori, 37, said in an Instagram video. She was holding up a stack of envelopes. “Some of these could be a penny, some of these could be $5.”

The caption said, “POV: You were on a TV show 20 years ago, and a random envelope still shows up in your mailbox. Time to open my latest Ned’s Declassified residual checks. Residual checks are one of those weird parts of being a child actor that people are always curious about, so I figured I’d open them with you. Who’s ready to find out if I’m buying coffee… or a yacht?”

“Some of these could be a penny, some of these could be $5,” Hyatt Tedmori said, referring to the envelopes she was holding. The actress then revealed that one of the envelopes just contained “two f–king cents.”

Not sure how to feel, Tedmori said, “All of two cents. See all of this paper I’m just littering in my car for two f–king cents.” She added, “I know, hard times [and the] economy is s–t, but like two cents? Keep it. Just f–king keep it. I don’t want it.”

Tedmori opened a series of envelopes for the video. The numbers remained hard to believe: 63 cents, $1.11, 68 cents, 87 cents, 36 cents, 45 cents, two for three cents, three for 81 cents, and two for $1.01.

Jennifer Hyatt Tedmori is best known for playing Doris Trembly on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide (2004–2007). She later made guest appearances in shows including “90210” before stepping away from mainstream acting.
