He asked what was going on while also responding to Markle’s joke about him not being able to handle spicy food. This episode was filmed in April during the Sussexes’ visit to Australia and aired following their recent reunion with King Charles.
Prince Harry interrupts Meghan Markle during MasterChef debut
Prince Harry made a FaceTime call appearance on “MasterChef Australia”. It happened while the regular judges, along with Meghan Markle, were reviewing a specific contestant’s dish. That’s when Markle received the call, picked it up, and greeted him warmly before panning her camera towards the other judges to say hello to him. Harry then asked, “What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?”
Markle responded that they were all in the middle of checking out the delicious dishes made by the contestants. She complimented the four cooks present over there, calling them “amazing” and “talented.” She further added, “We wish you were here. He’s in Canberra right now with the veterans.” She also wished that her husband were there to try out these fantastic dishes before pointing at the hot sauce.
The Duchess of Sussex said, “It’s really delicious, and there’s a hot sauce that, well, you know me … it is so good. I think it might be too much for you. It’s spicy.” Harry replied to her to enjoy her time on the show before apologizing for disturbing her. He reassured her that everything is well there and that he will see her later. His cameo was met with applause. A contestant also specifically commented, saying, “That’s crazy.”
Ahead of the episode’s premiere, Markle spoke about what fascinated her about the show in a statement. “What attracted me to the MasterChef Australia kitchen? Two things: my love of food and my love of Australia. It was an easy yes. It’s such a great show. I’m just really honored that I was asked to be able to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals,” she said.
