Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly might face a snub from the royals. The Sussexes recently reunited with the royal family during their UK tour. Despite the reunion, the couple is expected to miss an upcoming family tradition. According to an expert, Meghan and Harry might not join the family for their annual summer holiday at Balmoral.
Expert believes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t be invited to Balmoral holiday
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might be snubbed from the royals’ Balmoral holiday. “I think it’s still a question of baby steps as far as the reconciliation between the King and the Sussexes goes,” Bond told the Mirror.
She continued, “Everyone is still waiting to see whether the privacy of the recent reunion at Highgrove will be honoured.” The former BBC royal correspondent shared that, so far, things are going well and that it needs to be consistent.
However, Bond doesn’t see “Harry and Meghan being invited to Balmoral when William and his family are there.” She further added, “Other family members would clearly have to be asked if they wanted to be there at the same time.”
Bond continued, “The castle is almost a sacred place for the royal family. It is where the late Queen was happiest and where she died.” She called it the place where “family feels truly off-duty and relaxed.”
The journalist added, “They can put their guard down, and they would have to feel that was still the case if Harry and Meghan were there.” Moreover, Bond felt that the Duke of Sussex would love his kids to explore Balmoral. He also wrote about the place in his memoir, Spare.
Bond said she is “sure he wants to show his children what it’s like one day – and it is an entirely different world to the one they know in California. The 75-year-old shared that “it’s unlikely that we will see Harry and his family at Balmoral this year. However, “if the baby steps keep on coming, Harry might get his wish to show his children the wonders of this magical Scottish castle.”
