Chris Hemsworth documented a frightening in-flight ordeal during his family’s Costa Rica holiday. The Thor star shared footage from the family adventure in a new YouTube video. Their trip included several adrenaline-filled activities before severe weather created a terrifying moment.

Hemsworth shared a five-minute video featuring highlights from the family’s trip to Costa Rica. His children, India, 14, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 12, joined him for various adventures. The family enjoyed surfing, fishing, rock climbing, and cliff diving.
“My kids continue to crush all the extreme, adrenaline-pumping activities, no matter where we are,” Hemsworth said. He described the vacation as “one of the best trips we’ve ever had.” However, one part of the journey became considerably more frightening than the others.
The actor filmed himself aboard a plane traveling through a severe storm. The aircraft encountered lightning during what Hemsworth described as a “life-threatening plane ride.” At one point, he appeared visibly shaken by the turbulent conditions.
The frightening flight was only one part of the family’s action-packed holiday. Hemsworth’s sons jumped from cliffs into the water below during the trip. His daughter India also climbed a cliff wall while the family explored Costa Rica.
Elsa Pataky also joined the family during their vacation and appeared in the footage. In one playful moment, she pushed her unsuspecting husband into the water. The couple’s children were seen cliff diving nearby during the memorable family outing.
Hemsworth described the video as “a few of the highlights from my camera roll.” He also encouraged fans to make memories with the people they love. The family adventure came before he began filming Extraction 3 in New South Wales.
Hemsworth had previously discussed the importance of adventure in his personal life. During an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, he said “having an adventurous spirit, and making time for one another” helped maintain their relationship. The family reportedly lives in Byron Bay when Hemsworth is not working or travelling.
