Karlie Kloss is sharing a memorable story from her high school years. The supermodel looked back on a weekend that included two milestone events just days apart. She reflected on the experience during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Kloss revealed how that unforgettable week became one of the most unique moments of her early career.

Fallon asked her if she went to her senior prom, and she promptly responded, “Of course! Obviously.” She then showed a throwback picture with her prom date and described him as “totally my crush all through school.” Kloss laughed and added, “Totally friend-zoned me, but we went to prom.” She was in an orange Dior Couture gown with crystals, a plunging neckline, tulle details, and a black top hat; her date was wearing a black tuxedo with a white bow tie.
Kloss said she attended prom on a Friday night before heading to the Met Gala that Monday. She joked that she wore Dior Couture to both major events. “I mean, not bad… for a high school kid,” she said. She also noted that her 6-foot-2 height never stopped her from wearing heels.
In 2009, the model made her Met Gala debut at age 16. In 2011, she wore a gold metallic Christian Dior gown after wearing Dior Couture to her senior prom. This year, she attended her 17th Met Gala and shared the experience on her YouTube channel. She also selected another Dior outfit based on Jonathan Anderson’s first Couture collection for the fashion house.
Before the event, Kloss told PEOPLE, “I’m so excited for this theme. It’s going to be so beautiful.” She later wrote on Instagram, “The last time I wore a white @dior couture dress was for my wedding day… and now for my 17th Met.” She appeared on The Tonight Show a month after she attended the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
