A new development in the sphere of sexual assault allegations against Jared Leto has got everyone thinking.
The LAPD has declared that there are no open cases against Jared Leto despite allegations against him by several women.
The LAPD has no active criminal case against Jared Leto after recent claims
LAPD sources have told TMZ that there are currently no sexual assault cases against Jared Leto.
Allegations levelled against the actor stem from a social media post by LA DJ Allie Teilz. She posted about having experienced sexual assault at the hands of Leto when she was 17. The post drew many comments where other women also claimed to have been sexually exploited by Leto.
In a recent documentary called “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” 10 women have detailed their sexual abuse experiences with Leto between 2002 and 2016. One woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Leto in 2002. Another accuses the actor of having sex with her when she was underage. In response, Leto said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
However, none of these allegations have amounted to an active case against the Suicide Squad star. Law enforcement officers have cited a 2019 case involving an alleged victim. Charges were not filed for insufficient evidence and the alleged victim not being available at that time.
It is not unusual for sexual assault victims to not file cases, due to fear of social stigma and exposure. Hence, LAPD officials are encouraging anybody who believes they were sexually assaulted by Leto to come up and talk to them.
