K. Michelle’s long-running feud with Angela Yee reportedly influenced the logistics surrounding her latest media appearance. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star visited iHeartRadio while promoting a new chapter in her music career.
K. Michelle’s reported iHeartRadio visit revived her long-running Angela Yee feud
Page Six reported that K. Michelle visited iHeartRadio’s Manhattan headquarters on July 29 for an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.” According to the outlet’s source, staff members received instructions to keep Michelle and Yee apart during the visit.
The source claimed organizers placed Michelle in a different green room from the one typically used by “The Breakfast Club” guests. The change reportedly kept her farther from the studio where Yee records “Way Up With Angela Yee,” which airs after the morning show.
However, an iHeart representative said neither woman requested security. “There were no security requests from either party, and they did not see each other while at the iHeart studios,” the representative told Page Six. The outlet said it contacted Michelle and Yee for comment.
Their conflict dates back to a tense 2016 interview on “The Breakfast Club”. Michelle confronted Yee over an earlier episode in which rappers made crude remarks about the singer. She accused Yee of reviving the comments and argued that the discussion could have damaged the rollout for her album “More Issues Than Vogue.”
BET’s coverage of the exchange quoted Michelle calling Yee’s conduct “wrong” and “inappropriate.” Yee said she did not remember restarting the discussion and maintained that she had supported Michelle.
Yee later addressed the confrontation on “The Real”. She said she chose not to match Michelle’s energy because she did not believe an argument would accomplish anything. Page Six reported that Yee has maintained she never intended to embarrass the singer.
The reported precautions came as Michelle promoted “Jesus & Whiskey,” her first country album. People reported that the nine-track project, produced by Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, will arrive Oct. 16. Michelle has also brought her direct approach to RHOA. She recently entered her country era, pushed back against viewer criticism, and remained tangled in an unusual feud with Drew Sidora.
