At the same time, Middleton is making thoughtful gestures to support him. According to the report, she has much determination to protect the relationship they have built over the years. In doing so, she has apparently found herself caught between two people she cares about.

Reports claim that Kate Middleton has made it a priority to keep in regular contact with King Charles despite the alleged distance between the monarch and Prince William. William is reportedly giving his father some space. On the other hand, insiders claim Middleton has chosen not to let that affect her own relationship with Charles.
In fact, one source alleged that she is “constantly in touch” with her father-in-law (via Woman’s Day). The insider also claimed Middleton is grateful the situation has not reached a point where William would ask her to cut off contact with Charles altogether.
According to the same source, their relationship has grown stronger over the years. The insider even described Charles as “a second father” to Middleton. For that, the source claimed she feels a responsibility to make sure he knows he still has support.
Now, Middleton has apparently been finding simple ways to stay connected. The insider alleged she has been baking healthy treats and sending them to Charles as a thoughtful gesture. At the same time, she is speaking to him “several times a week.” Per the source, some of those conversations are only brief check-ins. Still, the insider claimed she is doing everything she can to ensure “no sort of ice” develops between them.
However, the report also suggests Middleton is being careful not to undermine William. While she has reportedly kept the conversations going, the insider claimed she has been seeing Charles less frequently out of respect for her husband’s request for space. In that sense, the source alleged she is trying to support both men without taking sides.
Even with the tension, the Princess is said to believe the situation will improve. “This will be sorted out with time,” the insider said. They added that she understands why William feels hurt, but also believes he still “loves his father dearly.”
Looking ahead, the insider added Middleton hopes the family can eventually move forward. According to the source, she believes the children should continue to have a close relationship with their grandfather. The insider also alleged that, even if William does not admit it now, he still “needs his father.”
