Toni Braxton Has a Response to Her New IRS Tax Lien

Toni Braxton has addressed a newly reported IRS tax lien after federal records showed she owed nearly $600,000. The Grammy-winning singer said the matter has already been resolved. The update comes more than a decade after her second bankruptcy case was closed.

The singer said she settled the IRS debt after a federal tax lien was filed in June.

TMZ reported that Federal records showed the IRS filed a tax lien against Braxton on June 22. According to the filing, the singer allegedly owed unpaid federal taxes for multiple years. The reported debt totaled approximately $598,000.

The records listed $69,390 for the 2022 tax year. They also included $278,876 for 2023 and $250,358 for 2024. Combined, those amounts brought the total alleged tax liability to nearly $600,000.

However, Braxton quickly responded through a representative. According to her spokesperson, the singer has already resolved the outstanding balance. The representative said the IRS matter had been settled following the filing of the federal tax lien.

The latest tax issues follow Braxton’s long-documented financial challenges. IN 1998, she filed for bankruptcy after a dispute involving her recording contract and finances. The case brought widespread public attention to her financial situation.

Braxton later filed for bankruptcy a second time in 2010. At the time, she reported owing millions of dollars to creditors. That bankruptcy case remained active for several years before officially closing in 2015.

Despite those past setbacks, Braxton has continued her successful entertainment career. She has remained active in music, television, and live performances over the years despite health challenges. Her latest response indicates the recent IRS issue has already been addressed.

The federal tax lien became public through official records filed in June. While the filing detailed the alleged unpaid taxes, Braxton’s representatives maintained that the debt has since been fully resolved.

Braxton has not publicly commented beyond her representative’s statement. There is also no indication that the resolved tax matter will affect her current professional activities.
