Martha Stewart has raised speculation after she made some comments about a member of the royal family. Despite facing pushback on her claims, Stewart is reportedly holding her ground.
Sources say Martha Stewart has no intention of retracting her Meghan Markle dinner claims
The controversy stems from a People interview with Martha Stewart. Here, she speaks about meeting Meghan Markle after she returned from the palace. The television personality also suggested that Markle was gossiping about their meeting.
Stewart said, “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California, and she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
A source dismissed her claims, explaining, “I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” adding, “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.” The source continued, “Meghan has always been a fan of Martha’s and enjoyed getting to meet her briefly at the dinner.”
However, sources of Rob Shuter’s Naughty but Nice have insisted that Stewart had refused to retract what she had said. “Martha said what she said,” one source says, adding, “She was there, she remembers the conversation and she has no reason to invent it.”
An insider at the outlet has also revealed that Meghan Markle may have directly contacted Stewart. They say, “Meghan would rather talk to Martha directly than let this become a bigger thing,” adding, “She wants to clear the air and doesn’t want this hanging over them.”
Meghan Markle and family paid a rare visit to the U.K. recently. They reportedly met with King Charles, who also met his grandchildren for the first time in four years.
