A report from The Hollywood Reporter confirms Conover will appear in Caroline Fletcher, directed by Ellyn Vander Wyden. The film also stars Chris Elliott, Caroline Aaron, Drew Van Acker, and Katrina Bowden. Newcomer Kayla Anjali plays the central character in the story. Daniel Blum wrote the screenplay for the Massachusetts-shot production.
Caroline Fletcher follows an 11-year-old girl whose life changes after her mother is arrested and a bully threatens her family. She responds by devising an ambitious scheme to protect them, blending comedy and drama.
Rob Goodrich is producing the project through his Foundry Pictures banner. Sunil Perkash, Vander Wyden, and Blum are also producing the film. WME Independent is handling the movie’s domestic rights. Several other filmmakers are attached as executive producers, including Van Acker, Jack Chinery, James Di Giacomo, KK Gregor, Justin Nesbitt, and Mark Lund.
Perkash praised the film’s central character and Anjali’s performance. “There’s nothing quite like Caroline’s perspective,” he said. He described the story as “funny, deeply heartfelt” and praised its ensemble cast. Goodrich also highlighted Blum’s screenplay and its emotional balance. He said the writer found “humor, heartbreak and hope within the same moment.”
For Conover, the film marks a move beyond his established reality television career. He became widely known through Southern Charm, which has followed his personal life and career in Charleston. His involvement in Caroline Fletcher gives viewers a chance to see him in a scripted feature. The film’s production has already concluded, though a release date has not been announced.
