However, she quickly received criticism, with some people questioning the need for the campaign at a time when many Americans are dealing with financial struggles.
In a TikTok video, Jools addressed the backlash and announced that she had canceled the fundraiser. She said everyone who donated would receive a refund.
Jools also spoke about what she described as the “hive mind” of TikTok and how the reaction to her fundraiser affected her.
In the caption of her post, she suggested that she may “officially let TikTok go.” Jools also questioned whether she could ever get the same momentum she had during the “Very Demure” trend again.
