Stewart appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night. During the appearance, she discussed working alongside Meyer on The Wrong Girls. The couple collaborated on the upcoming movie, which Meyer wrote. Stewart explained why working with loved ones appeals to her.
“Making something with somebody is my favorite form of intimacy,” Stewart said. She added, “I think when movies are good, they are like an act of love.” The actress said working with close friends and family therefore made sense. “It makes complete and total sense for me to work with my closest friends and family,” she explained.
Fallon then asked whether anyone discouraged Stewart from working with her partner. Stewart made it clear that she did not hesitate. “I’m a sort of exceptionally demanding and direct person,” she said.
“You’re going to make the movie without me? No,” Stewart remembered telling Meyer. Her response suggested she was determined to become part of the project. The actress ultimately got the opportunity to work alongside her wife.
Stewart has previously discussed her close creative partnership with Meyer. Their collaboration on The Wrong Girls now gives fans another look at their relationship.
