Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning will share the screen in an upcoming film, but before their reunion, Dakota opened up about a fight they had on set.
Dakota Fanning reveals the one and only on-set fight she and sister Elle got into while filming The Nightingale
32 recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, where she opened up about the first and only fight she ever had with her younger sister Elle Fanning while filming for The Nightingale.
Dakota said, “Right towards the end, there was a scene we were doing together, and it was this really hot room and we were on this couch, and I was like, ‘Move your leg.'”
“She was like, ‘My leg has been here all day!’ And I was like, ‘No, it hasn’t. Get off of me! I’m too hot. You’re sweating on me’ … I was like, ‘Stop talking!'” She added.
Dakota concluded, “It was the only quote-unquote ‘fight’ — but the crew was dying because we had kept it so together the whole time. It was totally a sister tiff.”
Fanning shared several stories during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, including the story behind her award nomination, details about their upcoming movie The Nightingale, and the special chemistry she shares with her sister Elle.
Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning have previously worked together on two movies, I Am Sam, released in 2001, and the 2005 animated film My Neighbor Totoro. The Nightingale will mark their third movie together.
However, the sisters provided voice-over performances for My Neighbor Totoro, voicing the main characters Satsuki and Mei, respectively.
The Nightingale is an adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel of the same name. Dana Stevens wrote the screenplay, while Michael Morris directed the film. Edmond Donovan also stars alongside the Fanning sisters in The Nightingale.
