Cristiano Ronaldo’s intimate wedding on August 11 has sparked new claims about his family. Portuguese presenter Cristina Ferreira said that the family learned about the wedding at the last moment. According to Metro, Jornal de Notícias published a copy of the couple’s marriage certificate. The marriage certificate confirmed that the couple officially married, with only four witnesses and their children present at the wedding.
Speaking on the TVI programme Dois, Cristina Ferreira claimed, “It will cause a lot of problems because the family wasn’t present. And they shouldn’t even have known. Or if they did know, it was 30 seconds beforehand.”
“I really hope that what we said here, which had to do with the impressions we get from what exists on social media, did not actually cause sadness in the family, that things were not as they apparently seem,” said the co-host.
Dolores Aveiro, Ronaldo’s mother, who never addressed rumors of a rift between her and Rodriguez, was reportedly not present at the wedding. She appeared to show her support to the couple on Instagram by posting a heart.
The new claim adds to the speculation surrounding the absence of Ronaldo’s family from his secret wedding. Reportedly, Ronaldo’s sister travelled to Madeira to meet family and friends over the weekend.
