Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Used Royal Family for Commercial Gain — Expert

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly turned their ties to the royal family into a source of commercial gain. The couple stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to Montecito and launching their own independent ventures. According to a report, much of the Sussexes’ success has stemmed from making the royal family a central subject of their projects.

Expert claims Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s commercial wins involved ‘royal family as subject matter’

As reported by NewsNation, senior royal correspondent Bronte Coy suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made the royal family a key part of their commercial strategy. This was made evident by the fact that some of the Sussexes’ biggest commercial successes have come from projects centered on the royal family.

According to Coy, the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries became a major hit, while Harry’s 2023 memoir, “Spare,” emerged as another commercial success after detailing his grievances with his family. She suggested that both projects benefited commercially from making the royal family their central subject matter.

Coy described them as “huge successes” that were “juicy,” but also “extremely damaging to some people.” Coy then turned her attention to the Sussexes’ finances, noting that Prince Harry’s latest legal battle against the publisher of the Daily Mail has reportedly been costly.

The expert described the family’s finances as something of a “black box,” saying their exact income remains unknown. Their earnings can only be estimated from deals with Netflix and Spotify, among other ventures, while the precise figures remain unclear.

However, while some may speculate that the Sussexes are facing financial difficulties, Coy’s sources reportedly suggest otherwise. She pointed out that the couple would likely struggle to fund expensive legal battles if they had serious concerns about their finances.

Meanwhile, the recent box office performance of “Cookie Queens,” which was produced by the couple, has added fuel to speculation about their success. The film reportedly earned just around $290,000 across 445 screens, lending some weight to Coy’s suggestion that the Sussexes’ most significant commercial wins have come from projects involving the royal family.
