Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly are not on the same page when it comes to making a major decision about their kids, Archie and Lilibet. The Sussexes reportedly have differing opinions over where they want their children to study. Markle had previously mentioned that her children attend different schools, likely due to their two-year age difference. The couple has resided in Montecito, California, ever since they stepped down as working royals in 2020.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly clashing over Archie and Lilibet’s schooling
A source told CloserOnline that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have differing opinions when it comes to their kids’ schooling. Markle is reportedly keen on her children continuing their studies in the USA. However, the Duke of Sussex wants his children to be closer to his British side.
A source shared with the outlet: “Harry can’t rule out a British education. He wants his children to have a meaningful connection to that side of their family. He’d prefer the kids to attend a mixed school, and has even explored the possibility of a day-pupil arrangement.”
Moreover, the source dished on the Duchess’ feelings, stating: “Culturally, LA is where Meghan feels comfortable. She never took to the stuffiness of England. It’s hard to imagine her agreeing to uproot the life she’s built in California.”
The source remarked: “Education is just the symptom – the bigger issue is deciding where home actually is. Friends are worried the disagreement risks ending in a complete stalemate. If neither of them is prepared to compromise, the consequences for their relationship could be significant.”
Interestingly, in a 2022 interview with The Cut, Markle explained that she could not imagine sending her kids to school in the UK. The former Suits star cited massive paparazzi stationed at schools and attention from the media as the main reason.
Markle revealed: “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child from a royal press photo-call of 40 people.”
