Scott Jennings Says the Donald Trump-Natalie Harp Attack Crossed an Ugly Line

CNN commentator Scott Jennings condemned Senator Jon Ossoff’s reference to White House aide Natalie Harp as sexist, but critics quickly noted the president’s own history of allegedly degrading comments toward women. The Republican strategist got backlash for defending Donald Trump on an issue many consider indefensible.

WARNING: The article contains mention of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Scott Jennings pushed back after Jon Ossoff invoked Donald Trump’s executive assistant during a campaign rally

Ossoff fired the original shot during a Sunday speech, questioning Trump’s commitment to leadership. “He doesn’t want to do the job,” the Georgia senator said. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

The White House reacted condemnably to Harp’s mention. Jennings joined the chorus, posting on X that Democrats had sent a damaging message to young women considering political careers. He called the remark “pretty ugly stuff” and later branded Ossoff a coward.

Critics dismantled Scott Jennings’s argument within hours. They pointed to Trump’s documented behavior toward women, including the Access Hollywood recording where he boasted about grabbing women without consent. The president has reportedly called female journalists “piggy,” questioned their intelligence, and criticized their appearance during press briefings.

Furthermore, a jury recently found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation against writer E. Jean Carroll, ordering him to pay $5 million. His longtime association with Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, remains public record.

“What message did Donald Trump send to women when he said on tape he could grab them by their genitalia?” one user asked Jennings. Another wrote on X: “Donald Trump has been credibly accused of sexual assault by dozens of women. Spare us the crocodile tears.”
