Gabbriette Bechtel has opened up about married life with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. The model said she already feels like she has married her best friend. She also explained why she wanted to have a small wedding. Gabbriette spoke about their relationship while discussing her busy creative life.
Gabbriette shared what she expects from married life with Matty Healy
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Gabbriette married Matty Healy at L.A.’s Castillo del Lago in July. She became the first bride to wear designs from French label Matières Fécales. She wore three different looks from the brand, including a silk-taffeta wedding dress. The dress featured a tiered bustle and the label’s signature déchiré tulle detailing.
When asked how she sees married life, Gabbriette said she does not expect things to change much. “I feel like I’ve already met my best friend,” she said. She also said the wedding was for their parents. Gabbriette wanted a smaller celebration, with approximately 50 people in a field.
Gabbriette has built a career across fashion, music, food and acting. She has been a model for Gucci, Fendi and featured in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Bottega Veneta. She also appeared in music videos for Charli xcx and JT. In 2018, Charli xcx chose her as the lead singer of the pop-punk group Nasty Cherry.
Gabbriette later shared cooking videos on Instagram after Nasty Cherry went on hiatus in 2020. The clips went viral and revealed her passion for the kitchen, which was passed down by her mother, Chayo. She also moved into acting with roles in the 2025 remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Idiotka. She said that modeling is always like acting, as every runway demands a different performance.
Gabbriette also spoke about her personal style, which fans have called “succubus chic.” She said her taste comes from the 1990s and early 2000s, and she still loves leather jackets, leather pants and jeans. Her friend Quenlin Blackwell described her as someone with a strong sense of style and a realness that people can feel. Gabbriette said she loves working, traveling and trying new things, and she does not mind being “a master of none.”
