Meghan Markle‘s previous wedding with now-ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, is making headlines. The pair, who began dating in 2004, tied the knot on August 16, 2011, in Jamaica. However, they were separated in 2013 and ultimately divorced in 2014. Now, an author has disclosed an interesting fact about the former couple’s wedding ceremony.
Meghan Markle’s ‘no social media rule’ on wedding with ex-husband had guests baffled, per author
In her book “The Palace Papers,” Tina Brown dropped a strict rule about Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson’s wedding. As per Express, the author shared a quote from a guest at the event. “The only jarring note is that Meghan sent out a note requesting ‘no social media, please,'” the guest said. She continued, “We were all laughing because she had been on Suits for a few months, and at that point, we were like, is she kidding me? She was like, ‘I’m a really big actress.'”
Markle was in the early days of her career when she married Engelson. Brown’s book suggested the nuptials were private compared to Harry and Markle’s high-profile royal wedding in 2018. She and Engelson parted ways in 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In June, Engelson’s alleged three-word response on the Sussexes’ relationship ended up resurfacing.
According to RadarOnline, on a podcast, Bethenny Frankel recalled a conversation with the film producer after Markle and Harry’s romance became public. “[Engelson] said his ex was a woman from a show called Suits. I didn’t know what the show was. I didn’t know the woman,” she said. “Months later, I see pictures showing Harry’s dating someone and texted him, ‘Is this your ex?”
As per the reality TV show star, Engelson replied, “Yup.” Frankel further asked him, “Do you think she’ll close?” Thus, the film producer gave a three-word response: “Oh, she’ll close.” His prediction turned out to be correct as less than two years later, Markle and Harry tied the knot in a grand ceremony.
