Prince Harry might be wanting to re-establish himself in the United Kingdom, surrounded by his royal family. According to a royal expert, the Duke of Sussex has reportedly been trying to “break free” from his life in the United States. He would allegedly want to rebuild his life again in his home country, attempting to make his way back into the royal fold.
For those unversed, the 41-year-old stepped down as a working royal with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020. He and his family left the U.K. and moved to California to seemingly build a life away from the royals.
Expert predicts why Prince Harry is looking to ‘build bridges back in Britain’
Prince Harry could reportedly return to the U.K. and try to reconcile with his family. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie told News24 that the duke might have a change of heart. He might have realized that his plans to build a life in the U.S. backfired. Therefore, Harry would allegedly like to return to his home country.
“I do think he is going to try and build bridges back in Britain,” the expert claimed. Furthermore, he compared Harry’s choices with his great-great-uncle, the Duke of Windsor. The late royal was also “cast into exile” for marrying Wallis Simpson.
“[Edward VIII] used to test the ground by coming back to visit people on a pretty regular basis and even bought a house in Britain- and I think Harry’s in the same position,” Lownie said.
However, the author noted that Harry’s attempt to break free has allegedly not worked in his favor. Reportedly, he has been struggling in his marriage to Meghan Markle. The Sussex couple seem to have different “professional lives.” Therefore, the expert predicts that the “Spare” author might “hope to re-establish himself” in the U.K.
Last month, Harry became the hot topic during his visit to his homeland. He met his father, King Charles, along with Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. This move has likely sparked questions about the duke’s return.
