Prince George’s real challenge at Eton is reportedly related to his father, Prince William. According to a royal expert, the 13-year-old would seemingly have to find his own path at the boarding school. Although he is set to follow his dad’s footsteps, the teen might have to remove himself from his parents’ shadow to create his own goals. For those unversed, George will start his education at Eton in September. William and Prince Harry, too, were once students there.
Prince George will have to remove himself from Prince William’s shadow at Eton, claims expert
Prince George might have to come out of Prince William’s shadow at Eton College. Psychologist and school admissions strategist Sarah Suria told Marie Claire that the second heir in line would have to face a new challenge. George following in his father’s footsteps to the boarding school is said to be a proud moment for his parents. However, the expert claimed that their son would have to make his own way without his dad’s help in the school.
“Going to Eton, as William did, could offer familiarity and continuity, but the real opportunity is for George to walk into a place associated with his father and still find a way to make the experience his own,” Suria said.
According to her, George seemed to be entering the boarding school at the right time. It is said to be an age when kids would reportedly want to explore their true selves, out of their parents’ shadow. In the young prince’s case, the expert hinted that he is aware of his inheritance. But he also might need to find his identity at an institution by himself.
Moreover, an earlier report claimed that George might not have all the luxury at his father’s alma mater. A royal commentator told Page Six, “The biggest challenge won’t be academics or making friends. It’ll be balancing Prince George’s privacy with the reality that every classmate has TikTok.” Adding, “William and [his brother] Harry attended before social media transformed adolescence. George won’t have that luxury.”
