Suge Knight recounted a bizarre story about Tupac Shakur’s cremation following the rapper’s death in 1996. He claimed Tupac’s ashes later ended up in blunts that friends and relatives smoked together.
Knight, who was with Tupac when he was shot in Las Vegas, described the alleged events surrounding the rapper’s remains. He said Tupac’s mother wanted him cremated immediately after his death.
Suge Knight recounts his alleged efforts to have Tupac cremated immediately after his death
Knight told TMZ that someone connected him with a funeral home worker late that evening. He asked the man to cremate Tupac, but the man reportedly said he could not do it immediately.
Knight then obtained the man’s address and went to his home. He claimed he arrived carrying two bags filled with cash.
One bag allegedly contained $200,000, while the other held $1 million. Knight said he initially offered the $200,000 bag for an immediate cremation.
According to Knight, the man refused and said he could not cremate Tupac that night. Knight then allegedly increased his offer to $1.2 million.
Knight claimed the man accepted the larger offer and cremated Tupac that same night.
The story then took an even stranger turn involving Tupac’s ashes. Knight said Tupac’s mother had people visit her Las Vegas hotel room afterward.
According to Knight, they rolled Tupac’s ashes into several blunts and smoked them. Knight said he declined to participate because he was on probation.
Knight explained that he believed smoking Tupac’s ashes could potentially violate his probation terms. He therefore passed on the unusual farewell.
Tupac died after suffering gunshot wounds during a September 1996 Las Vegas shooting. Knight survived the attack, which remains one of hip-hop’s most infamous cases.
Decades later, Duane “Keefe D” Davis faces prosecution in connection with Tupac’s killing. Knight, however, claimed Davis was not the only person involved in the rapper’s alleged assassination.
Tupac’s death has generated countless theories, investigations and documentaries over the years. Knight’s latest account adds another extraordinary claim about what happened after the rapper’s death.
