Post Malone Australia and New Zealand tour has been cancelled. The Grammy-winning rapper and singer known for hits including “Sunflower,” “Rockstar” and “Circles,” has postponed his tour leaving a major Australian festival without its planned headline act. The 31-year-old star has also been working on new music as he reshuffles his touring schedule.
Post Malone’s tour postponement leaves Strummingbird without its headline act this year
Malone was set to headline the Strummingbird festival, a country music event scheduled in Newcastle, Ballarat and the Sunshine Coast in 2026. However, he is no longer part of the lineup after reportedly scrapping his Australian dates, as per Daily Mail.
Post Malone Australia and New Zealand tour was supposed to begin in Melbourne on October 9 before moving through Ballarat, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast, with a final stop in Auckland.
The tour would have marked Malone’s first Australian performances in three years and his biggest run in the country so far. Although the dates are reportedly postponed rather than canceled, no new schedule has been announced.
Malone previously said his wider touring plans were being pushed back as he worked on new music. In a statement shared on Instagram Stories earlier this year, he acknowledged that the timing was not quite right.
The change has also left ticket holders waiting for information about refunds. Tickets for the tour went on sale May 26.
Despite the setback, Malone has previously enjoyed his time performing in Australia. During his November 2023 tour, he famously joined in the local tradition of doing several “shoeys” during his opening concert.
Meanwhile, the singer has also made headlines in his personal life. Malone reportedly proposed to his on-and-off girlfriend Christy Lee earlier this month. The couple had reunited following their split last year.
For now, Australian fans will have to wait for an update on when Malone’s postponed tour will take place.
