The View’s Sunny Hostin Makes Risky AI Move That Could Change Everything

Sunny Hostin is taking a new approach to adapting her writing for the screen. The View co-host has signed a licensing agreement with AI entertainment company Fountain 0, giving the studio access to her name and likeness under terms that allow her to control how they appear.

The deal also opens the door for Fountain 0 to adapt Sunny Hostin novels into film and television projects. Hostin said the technology could give creators more freedom to develop stories without traditional production budget limitations.

According to Variety, Hostin said one of the biggest attractions of the Sunny Hostin AI deal is the possibility of appearing within adaptations of her own work.

“To be able to bring my novels to life in movie and TV form, and actually have my image inserted in the productions, so that audiences can relate to me through my stories beyond my role as an author, is incredibly exciting to me,” she said.

Fountain 0 CEO Ash Koosha said Hostin will determine which projects move forward and how the studio can incorporate her image. According to Koosha, the agreement gives her “strict control” over the use of her likeness.

The arrangement places Sunny Hostin among a growing number of public figures exploring licensed AI appearances. Other AI companies have previously secured likeness rights from entertainers and athletes for digitally created productions.

Fountain 0 has already produced AI-generated movies, including Dreams of Violets and Odysseus: The Fall. Koosha directed both projects and used his own likeness to portray the Greek hero in the latter.

For Hostin, the agreement also provides another path toward adapting her books. She previously pursued screen versions of her work, including her Summer on the Bluffs series, through her Roots & Wings Productions company.

The View personality said she also sees AI production as a way to bring more stories centered on audiences she believes Hollywood has underserved.

“I feel particularly strongly that there is a need to bring stories to the big screen that are more in tune with the lives of diverse audiences that Hollywood focuses too little on,” Hostin said.

The agreement therefore gives Hostin a chance to develop her existing intellectual property while maintaining control over how Sunny Hostin’s likeness appears in Fountain 0 productions.
